The Flyers had a very slow start in the game. The Sabres opened the scoring less than four minutes into the first, and had built themselves a 3-0 lead before the period was half over. The Flyers found their way onto the scoreboard with 10:15 remaining.
The Sabres built on their lead in the second as they scored two goals in a 4:55 span to lead 5-1. Fort St. John began to close the gap however as they made the score 5-2 with 6:27 left in the middle frame.
Despite being down three goals the Knights of Columbus Flyers kept chipping away. They scored exactly one minute into the third to close within two. With 5:50 left they closed within one, and the Flyers netted themselves the tying goal with just 15 seconds remaining to round out the scoring.
Scoring for Fort St. John were Aiden Craig-Steele, Kolton Leslie, Connor Bowie (2), and Max Dobson.
