MacLean Flyers drop weekend games to Fort McMurray

Saturday afternoon’s game saw the Flyers get off to a great start. They opened the scoring just over three minutes into the game, and added another two as the period progressed. Unfortunately for them they allowed the Barons to score in the final minutes of the frame which set the tone or the best of the game.

The Barons got themselves within one with 13:49 to go in the second, and they would tie the game less than four minutes later. They netted the go ahead goal with less than two minutes to play in the period.

Fort McMurray added two more goals in the third to round out the scoring.

Finding the back of the net for the Flyers in the tilt were Tyler Musgrove, John Herrington, and Quinn Disher.

In Sunday’s tilt the Barons picked up where they left off against the Flyers. The opened the scoring in the first and the score held going into the second period. The Barons went up 2-0 late in the third, however the Flyers cut the lead in half with a goal of their own with 1:48 remaining.

The Barons wrapped the game up with an empty net goal in the third period.

Scoring the lone goal for the Flyers in the contest was Nathan Brownlee. Assists went to Kurtis Lee, and Brophy Dunne.
