The year-to-date total is $135.2 million and the 2013 total was $224.6 million.
That means the November and December sales will have to average more than three times the October total of $14.3 million.
That sale saw 24 of 27 parcels purchased, with the 16 drilling licenses and eight leases covering just over 14,000 hectares.
That compares this month with the latest reports from the Natural Gas Development Ministry showing today’s sale will offer 30 parcels, 29 drilling licenses and one lease – covering just over 31,000 hectares.
Chances are this sale will put to an end to an earlier concern that this calendar year’s bonus bid’s total would be the smallest since 1998.
That dubious honor now belongs to the 2012 calendar year at $139.2 million.
