Traffic is however still flowing southbound.
“Flaggers are en route and at that time it is expected that there will be single alternating traffic,” Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said in a written statement. “It is expected that there will be delays and alternating traffic for at least two hours.”
The RCMP has yet to report any injuries and says the accident was the result of poor road conditions.
Police are reminding commuters that the roads, both within the city and on the highway, are very icy.
“Please drive carefully and give yourself extra time to get to your destination,” Cpl Shekie concludes.
