It’s providing the North East Native Advancing Society Child Care Centre, located on 101 Avenue, with $500,000 in capital funding to build a new capacity for 12 spaces for children under 36 months, 12 more for school-aged children, and eight others for multi-aged care
“Our government is committed to creating opportunities where young children can smoothly transition from childcare to school and older children can transition from the classroom to after-school care,” Peace River North MLA Pat Pimm said.
These new spaces are part of the government’s commitment under what it calls ‘the B.C. Early Years Strategy’ to support the creation of more than 1,000 new spaces by March of next year.
Construction and renovations for the new spaces are expected to begin at that time.
