On Halloween day at 8:00 a.m., the Fort St. John RCMP searched a residence on 109th street.

“During the search they found 289 grams of crack and powder cocaine which was found to be in the process of being packaged for individual sales, 27 grams of marijuana and over $8,000 in cash,” Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a written statement.

Calvin Sean Gunning, a Fort St. John man, has been charged with one count of Possession of a Drug for the Purpose of Trafficking and one count of Possession of a Drug.

It’s alleged was previously known to police, and is also facing four counts of trafficking from May 2014 when he was found to have cocaine and Fentanyl in his possession.

“We are very proud of the work our Drug Section is doing,” Cpl. Jodi Shelkie writes. “They have made numerous and significant seizures over the past few months and many people have been charged for possessing and trafficking in illegal drugs. It’s important to not only keep the city safe by taking the drugs off the streets but also to bring consequences to the people who choose to supply the drugs.”
