The ups and downs of this week’s weather in Fort St. John

There’s no weather office post yet on the snowfall, but the rain added 0.6 millimeters to the precipitation total, bumping it to 22.5.

Snowfall predictions for today and tomorrow are now running from 9 – 14 centimeters with most of it today.

The month-to-date total through yesterday was 22.4, which means it will take just over 10 centimeters to match the local area November norm of 32.5.

The good news is while temperatures are expected to fall to overnight lows near -12, during the weekend they should still be near the seasonal norms.

They should also be nothing close to what it got to on this day in 1982 when the temperature reached -30.4 – or what it got to on November 22 in 1955 at -33.5.
