The Huskies’ fundraising success comes in large part to the team’s door-to-door efforts, as they’ll spend a portion of Sunday venturing around town, collecting non-perishable food donations from Fort St. John homes.
Collection will start around 11 a.m. People can also drop off food at the North Peace Arena starting at noon.
Last year’s event raised over 24,000 pounds of food for the Salvation Army food bank, and $17,000 in donations.
Over the duration of the event’s history, it’s estimated that the Huskies have raised over $250,000 dollars worth of food for the food bank.
Volunteers are needed to help with the event. Anyone wanting to donate their time, food, or make a financial donation can call 250-261-9466.
