These projects either underway or about to start shortly, are all part of a ten year upgrade and repair plan to annually invest $1,700,000 in infrastructure renewal.

At the WAC Bennett Dam several projects improving performance monitoring have already been completed.

In addition, upgrades are scheduled for the dam’s core casings, and the concrete base of the spillway chute, with completion dates set for next year.

Spillway gate system upgrades for both dams are also scheduled to be competed next year.

However, Hydro estimates it could be the summer of 2016, before the so-called rip-rap replacement begins and two or three years after that, before the work finished on the deteriorating portions of the large rock protecting the upstream slope of the Bennett Dam.
