Local RCMP arrest man found with cocaine and Fentanyl

The Drug Section arrested the suspect on Monday, December 1, and says he was in possession of nearly one pound of powder and crack cocaine packaged in one ounce quantities, 26 Fentanyl pills, and $7,500 in cash.

“Our Drug Section has been very active and this arrest is another example of the work they are doing,” Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said in a written statement. “An important part of a safe community is keeping illegal drugs off the streets.”

Mack Franke-Barton is being charged with trafficking illegal drugs.

The RCMP says Franke-Barton, who is from Abbotsford but currently staying in Fort St. John, was also previously known to police.

Franke-Barton’s next court appearance is December 10.
