School District 60 to receive $20,000 for trades training

The SSA program is a duel credit program that allows students 15 years old and above in grades 10, 11, and 12 to start work based training of an apprenticeship program while still in high school.

In a release Peace River North MLA Pat Pimm said, “Our government is working to ensure that our youth are equipped with the skills they need for careers in our growing economy. This funding is a practical investment in our youth.”

As of the end of October, there was over 1,700 youth apprentices registered in SSA programs in B.C.
