Flyers’ Jeff Shipton is one of the First All-Star Team’s forward, while Brady Busche and Tyler Loney are defensemen on the Second All-Star Team alongside Joey Massingham as one of their forward.
“Busche is named to his first All-Star Team,” NPHL Statistician Chris Clegg writes. “He joined the Flyers last year scoring 4-14-17 points. This season, he scored 3-10-13 points.”
Clegg adds, “Loney is named to his second All-Star Team after scoring 4-15-19 points in only 11 games for the Flyers this season.”
Manning Comets’ Braden Gamble is goaltending for the First All-Star Team against Grande Prairie Athletics’ Darren Walker in the Second.
The NPHL Major Award Winners have also been announced, and while there are no Flyers on the list, there are some notable mentions.
Dustin Sather of the Spirit River Rangers takes home the Most Valuable Player and Best Forward Award, while four members of the Grande Prairie Athletics were also recognized.
The Most Gentlemanly Player goes to Andrew Buote, Rocky of the Year goes to Devin Bell; Mark Stojan is recognized as the Best Defenseman, while Blaine Bablitz walks away with being awarded Couch of the Year.
The Fort St. John Senior Flyers closed out their NPHL regular season schedule with 8-5 win over Manning this weekend.
They enter the playoffs as third seed and take on the Spirit River Rangers in the opening round of the NPHL playoffs.
The series is expected to begin February 17, 2015; however a full schedule of the dates and times for the other games has yet to be released.
