EDMONTON — The latest ideas on improving the environmental performance of Alberta’s oilsands are being presented at a conference in Edmonton.

The World Heavy Oil conference will discuss plans from reducing energy and water use to better ways of restoring the boreal forest.

Presenters say it’s part of a gradual, bit-by-bit environmental improvement that nevertheless adds up.
