Black Sox to open Wheatbelt Baseball League season tonight

The Fort St. John Black Sox will throw the first pitch on their Wheatbelt Baseball League season tonight at the college diamonds. The Sox will do battle with the Fairview Outlaws at 7 p.m.

The Outlaws are making their return to the league, bringing the total up to six teams for the season.

After tonight’s game the Sox will take part in a double header at home on Saturday afternoon as they’ll welcome the Peace River Stampeders. Those games are slated for 1 and 4 p.m.

Of note this year, the league’s all star game will be held in Fort St. John. The skills contest and the game itself will be played on June 13.
