However, in the same month last year, thirty permits resulted in a construction value total of 18.7 million.
It is a different story when it comes to the year-to-date-numbers, with the first four months of last year, resulting in 78 permits issued, worth 34.9 million.
That’s only 69 percent, of the value of the 80 permits issued through April of this year, which has been posted at 50.7 million dollars.
That makes this year, the first one since the record year of 2011, which included the 270.6 million dollar permit for the new hospital, that the city has posted construction value over 40 million dollars.
Meantime, this is the day City Council is scheduled to be asked to approve plans for a transitional community gathering space at the site of the Old Fort Hotel on 100th street and 100th avenue. It carries a staff recommended budget of $150,000. We will post another story after the Council meeting with further information about the plan.
