Several areas of the Prince George Fire Centre are currently experiencing “high” fire danger ratings, with the remainder of the region rated “moderate”.

Since April 1, 2015, the Wildfire Management Branch has responded to 31 wildfires in the Prince George Fire Centre. It’s suspected that all but one of these fires were human-caused and therefore preventable. These fires serve as a reminder to anyone who is carrying out industrial activities in B.C. to remain vigilant.

Open fires are currently prohibited in the Prince George Fire Centre that affects all of Northeast B.C.
