Boat thefts on the rise in GP

If you happen to have a boat in Grande Prairie, you may want to check on it.

Grande Prairie RCMP say they are investigating several reports of stolen aluminum boats in the area.

Police are advising boat owners to ensure they have photographs and vehicle identification numbers of their property to ensure it can be properly identified in the event it is stolen and recovered.

They are also reminding people to be cautious of buying boats, and other items, from local classifieds websites.

RCMP are asking anyone with information about the boat thefts to contact them at 780-830-5701.
