The Fort St. John Soccer Club year end tournament got underway on Friday and is slated to wrap up later today. Teams ranging from under 8 boys and girls to under 16/18 mixed groups are taking part.

Tournament coordinator Sigrid Thompson said not only do players improve as individuals, but the teams as a whole also experience significant improvement in their play going back to the start of the season.

“They absolutely get better as players and as teams. Kids that don’t play during the winter it’s been an experience for them to get some more time with the ball and playing with some of the kids who play all year long. Most of the competitive players play all year long,” she said.
