Hudson’s Hope water supply switch planned for fall

The District of Hudson’s Hope will switch its water supply to two new groundwater wells this fall.

Fort St John was fortunate to have a beautiful weekend with lots of activity all over town!

Friday was a great start to the weekend with beautiful weather and lots happening around the community. The North Peace Museum hosted Documentary Night – Front Page Challenge featuring trivia about Ma Murray of the Alaska Highway News! Lots of people were outside enjoying the start of summer: I met tennis players at Surerus Park, saw a birthday celebration at Kin Park, and stopped by a garage sale!

Saturday was a beautiful busy day in the Peace! It was National Health and Fitness Day and the City of Fort St John hosted an event at the Pomeroy Sports Center with free fitness classes and local company information booths. I stopped by St Luke’s Church yard sale before heading to the Lido for the Champion’s League Final, Barcelona VS Juventis FC, being shown at the Lido by the FSJ Soccer Club. I also went out to the Aubrey Foster Memorial Field to check out the R/C Club fun fly event and learn about remote control planes and helicopters.

Community Interviews with Moose FM

Sunday morning, I checked in with the R/C Club again at their fun fly. The wind picked up a bit more and made flying difficult, but they were still pulling off tons of tricks in the air! From there I went to the Rotary Skatepark and handed out some frisbees and watched some cool scooter and skateboard moves! There was also The Move Dance Company 16th Annual Recital at the North Peace Cultural Center. Lots of talent and athleticism! Lastly, I stopped in at the SPCA for Cat Cuddling and Dog Walking as well as to help out with the bottle sorting. Register online to become an SPCA volunteer!

Thank you to Tom and the R/C Club for inviting me to their event, as well as all the other event organizers for planning lots of activities for the whole community to enjoy! Stay tuned to 100.1 Moose FM or check out Events on to keep track of the latest happenings in the Peace country!

If you have an event you would like me to attend, please let me know!

I’ll be out again next weekend cruising the streets of Fort St John!
