A decision on the Pacific Northwest LNG project could come as early as this week.
According to an article in the Globe and Mail, top executives from Petronas will visit Vancouver on Thursday to discuss the joint venture. The meetings will include top executives from Pacific NorthWest LNG and other backers from China, Japan, India and Brunei.
The Globe and Mail was able to confirm the meeting, but the agenda or if an announcement would be made this week.
The proposed $36 billion project still faces major hurdles including approval from the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency and approval from local First Nations.
