Stingray swimmers compete at local meet

45 Fort St. John Stingray swimmers took to the North Peace Leisure Pool to see how they measured up against swim clubs from Dawson Creek, Prince George, and Mackenzie on Saturday and Sunday. Four records were established at the meet, including two by Stingray members.

Jamie Jodoin set a new mark in the 13 year old girls 100 metre breaststroke, and Owen Lang established new records in the 10 year old boys 50 metre freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, 100 metre freestyle, and IM.

Swimmers that placed in the top three in their respective categories are as follows:

Gold      Rebecca-Mae Arnold (27 points)

Gold      Sarah Hannaford (27 points)

Bronze  RJ Arnold (19 points)

“O” Cat 1 Boys

Gold      Owen Lang (42 points)

In the overall club standings Dawson Creek finished with 672 points as they brought in 65 swimmers. The Stingrays and their 45 swimmers compiled 455 points for second place. Taking third were the Prince George Pisces with 213 points with seven swimmers, and fourth went to Mackenzie as their 12 swimmers came away with a total of 178 points.
