Thefts highlight Dawson Creek weekly report

Over the week of June 14-20, Dawson Creek RCMP fielded 196 calls for service. Of the calls 29 were traffic complaints, there were 17 reports of theft, seven assaults, seven break and enters, five collisions, and four impaired driving investigations.

The Pantry Restaurant at the George Dawson Inn was broken into for the second time in a month. The latest incident happened on June 15 as suspects gained entry through ceiling tiles and took a small amount of money and electronic equipment. In the first break in suspects again made off with cash, and eight bottles of alcohol.

Officers responded to a break and enter in the Rolla area on June 15. Electronics and jewellery were taken from the residence. A second break and enter was reported in the same area as a vehicle, and ATV were taken. Afterwards notification came from Grande Prairie RCMP stating that items from both robberies had been recovered. A 30 year old male, and 26 year old male have been charged with a number of counts of possession of stolen property.

Also on June 15 officers responded to a theft at Integra Tire. Eight oversized Michelin tires were stolen at a value of $4,000. The tires have not since been recovered.

Anyone with information on the Pantry Restaurant robberies, or the attempted sale of the tires, or that may have seen anyone enter the Integra Tire compound are asked to call the Dawson Creek RCMP at 250-784-3700, or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
