BC Hydro will be forcing an emergency power outage at approximately 11:35 a.m. that will affect businesses in and around the Totem Mall. The planned outage is a result of a construction crew doing a dig and exposing underground power lines.

Hydro spokesperson Bob Gammer said the outage will affect the Totem Mall, Safeway, Original Joe’s and Montana’s. Gammer was unable to give a more specific outline as to what streets the outage will impact. Other businesses may also find themselves without power temporarily.

The outage is expected to be in place for 30-60 minutes.
