Northern Health has announced that there will be limited emergency room coverage in Chetwynd from 5 p.m. on July 24, through 8 a.m. on July 27. During this time nurses will be available to provide an initial assessment to patients, and triage advice, however a physician will not be on hand.
The organization states those in need of emergency attention can call 911 to be transported to Fort St. John or Dawson Creek, or can use private transportation. They add that once discharged from hospital it will be up to the patient to find a way back to their community, however using the Northern Health Connections bus service is an option.
Those that use emergency during that time with non-urgent needs will be encouraged to use the Chetwynd Primary Care Clinic.
