Hudson’s Hope is slated to receive upgrades to its wastewater facility after funding was granted by both the federal and provincial governments.
The current facility will see the addition of an influent screen and truck waste receiving facility; an air diffusion system for two lagoon cells; deepening and lining in two lagoon cells; the construction of a new blower building and aeration system; and related electrical and control systems.
The project, which will see contributions of more than $750,000 from both the federal and provincial governments, is part of a province wide effort to improve smaller communities. The federal and provincial government have already funded more than $128-million to a total of 55 similar projects across British Columbia.
The District of Hudson’s Hope will be responsible for the remaining costs of their project, which will cost more than $850,000.
“Having worked in Hudson’s Hope in the past, I am proud that our Government is investing in upgrades to the wastewater facility in Hudson’s Hope that will benefit our community by improving much needed local infrastructure,” said Prince George-Peace River MP Bob Zimmer.
