Peace sports groups to benefit from B.C.’s Community Gaming Grant


Two sports groups from Dawson Creek and another from Chetwynd will be receiving over $30,000 from B.C.’s Community Gaming Grant program. The grants are awarded under sports and arts & culture categories of the grant program and allows non-profit groups to apply for gaming revenues from the Ministry of Community, Sport, and Cultural Development.

In a release Peace River South MLA Mike Bernier said, “I am pleased to see funding for all of these South Peace sports groups. Organizations like these help keep our youth and our residents healthy and active.”

The benefitting clubs are the Little Giant Figure Skating club which received $12,000, the Dawson Creek Seals were awarded with $14,400, and the Bear Mountain Nordic Ski Association got $5,250.
