Site C roadwork to begin this summer

Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Todd Stone announced this morning $7.9 million in roadwork that will soon be taking place to improve access to Site C. Various upgrades will be made to Old Fort Road, 269 Road, and 240 Road.

Widening, paving, and realigning will be done to Old Fort Road, and street lights will be installed at various intersections along Old Fort Road and 240 Road.

Upgrading and paving will be done to 1.6 kilometres of 240 road, and upgrading and paving work will be done on a 900 metre stretch of 269 Road.

The contract was awarded to A.L. Sims and Sons Ltd. of Prince George, and is the first contract the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has awarded with BC Hydro as part of the project.

Work will begin this summer and should be completed in September of next year.
