Thanks to Northern Development Initiative Trust’s Community Halls and Recreation Facilities program improvements will be coming to the Phoenix Theatre, and the Curling Rink.
Seats within the Phoenix Theatre will be replaced with new ones with movable arm rests and improved sizing. Theatre manager John Roper said in a release that the seating will allow the theatre to host additional shows such as double features or trilogies.
Improvements at the Curling Rink will come in the form of a new chiller. The new chiller will result in energy savings of 10-15 per cent, an indefinite lifespan, less maintenance, and up to 80 per cent less ammonia charge. The chiller will be installed in time for the 2015 season.
