The Prince George Fire Centre is monitoring a forest fire approximately 30 kilometres west of Tumbler Ridge. The fire can be seen from Tumbler Ridge and Highway 29 and is five hectares in size.
The fire is considered a modified response fire as a result of limited accessibility, and dangerous terrain.
The fire is in close proximity to a gas plant, about two and a half kilometres downhill, however it is not anticipated the fire will spread in that direction. The fire is expected to grow but is not posing a threat to any values.
Suppression of the fire will occur if a situation presents itself where crews can access it safely.
