The Peace River Regional District is continuing their efforts in working with BC Hydro to address impacts to the region relating to Site C. The Board of the PRRD will be meeting with BC Hydro president and CEO Jessica McDonald to discuss various points of importance to the regional district.

Those points consist of making sure there are proper emergency management plans in place, and Hydro being able to provide significant assistance in the coordination of emergency response and recovery efforts to the public remains safe.

The PRRD would also like to see a community engagement committee put in place which would facilitate a working relationship between the parties based on trust and respect.

A property tax impact compensation framework is hoped to be agreed on which would assess negative impacts to properties from Site C. A reduction in values would result in a decrease of tax revenue for the PRRD.
