Northern BC Tourism Association has announced that the Google Trekker will be coming to Northern BC for June, July, and August 2016.

Google Trekker is a new endeavour to add the great outdoors to Google’s Street View. The Trekker has already been to Churchill, Manitoba, the so-called the Polar Bear Capital of the World, and Iqaluit, capital of Nunavut.

“Northern BC Tourism is thrilled about this opportunity and what it means for our tourism region,” said Clint Fraser, CEO of NBCTA.

“We will now be able to literally put Northern BC’s wild places and spaces on the map for the world to see. Allowing users to experience our wilderness virtually will inspire them to visit in the future and we are excited to partner with Google to make this happen.”

The schedule for the Trekker will be developed in the coming weeks, so look out for the Peace Region.
