RCMP investigating suspicious death in Taylor

After a traffic stop, the RCMP discovered the owner of this vehicle was deceased.

The Fort St. John RCMP have a local woman in custody after a male was found deceased beside the Alaska Highway in Taylor.

On Sunday, September 6, 2015, at 11:40 p.m., the RCMP stopped a white pickup truck in Taylor driven by a female.  Through the investigation, the RCMP discovered the vehicle was registered to Kirk Morin.  Morin was found deceased between Cherry Avenue and the Alaska Highway.

Police are still trying to piece together just what happened between the female and the deceased.

The RCMP are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious between a male and female or anyone who saw a white Dodge dually pick-up in Taylor near the arena and community centre to contact them immediately.

Sunday evening an RCMP officer spoke with a few people in Taylor.  The RCMP would like to speak with those individuals again regarding this incident.

If you have any further information about this incident, please call 250-787-8100.

The name of the female in custody cannot be released until she has been charged and appeared before a judge.

The Fort St. John General Investigations Section, the Forensic Identification Section, General Duty members and the Prince George Major Crime Unit are all still actively investigating this death.
