An update on BC Hydro Site C safety procedures and job fair schedules is expected to be released in the coming weeks. Job fairs scheduled for late July in Fort St. John, Chetwynd, and Tumbler Ridge were postponed after a disturbance was created by an individual at a Site C job fair in Dawson Creek, and another man was shot and killed outside near the event.

Dave Conway of BC Hydro said “The intent of this evaluation is to ensure the safety of our staff and members of the public. We expect to work with our partners to finalize an announced date for the job fairs in the coming weeks or so.”

Policies and procedures are still being reviewed Conway added, and as such he was unable to elaborate currently as to what the changes may look like for the to be scheduled events.
