On Saturday afternoon, an ATCO employee collapsed while working on assembling a trailer unit at the temporary site for accommodation.
While first aid, RCMP, and paramedics responded right away, the worker was unresponsive, and pronounced dead.
BC Hydro’s Dave Conway confirmed that work on the site was stopped immediately, and some of the work restarted on Sunday. The work by ATCO resumed on Monday out of respect for the man who passed, Shauna Peets with ATCO said.
Scott McCloy of WorkSafe BC says the incident is still being investigated, but the death does not appear to be work-related at this point.
