The Fort St. John RCMP are asking for the public’s help to identify a vehicle that could have been involved in the abduction of a child.

According to a press release sent late Wednesday evening, the RCMP are trying to identify one male and one female who may have used a newer model while Ford Explorer (or similar type vehicle) with a licence plate starting with an “J” or “AJ”.

The incident is believed to have taken place in the 8000 block of 87th avenue at approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday.

At this time, the RCMP has not ruled out the possibility that this incident may have involved the discipline of a child by his/her parents and that a child abduction may not have occurred.
