The excitement between Canada white and Russia was far from the only action yesterday at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. Three other games took place as the six remaining teams took to the ice in pre-tournament action.

Canada red took on the United States in Dawson Creek. The US took the win by a score of 4-3 as they cashed in on two of four power play opportunities.

Also in Dawson Creek Canada black skated with Sweden. The game was a difficult one for the black squad as they fell 5-1. They outshot the Swedes 37-30, but Sweden did a solid job with the extra man as they went three of eight on the power play.

The most exciting game of the day without question was Finland and the Czech Republic. Fans at the North Peace Arena were treated to a fast game with multiple scoring opportunities. The high scoring affair went into overtime which Finland won 8-7.

There are no games scheduled for today, however day one of the preliminary round will begin tomorrow. The tournament slate can be seen by clicking here.
