The District of Tumbler Ridge has announced that they won the Community of the Year Award, during the 2015 Generate Clean Energy Conference.

This award was given in recognition of their efforts to promote wind projects built, in construction, or awaiting power purchase agreements around the community.

Tumbler Ridge has lobbied the Provincial Government to approve these projects, which benefit the district and the rest of BC.

Tumbler Ridge supports the 145MW Quality wind project along with Pattern Energy’s 185MW project, which are currently in construction.

There remains over $2 billion worth of proposed wind projects near Tumbler Ridge.
