Rona Ambrose, interim leader of the Conservative Party, announced the Official Opposition Shadow Cabinet today — and Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies MP Bob Zimmer is the Deputy Critic for Families, Children, and Social Development.

Ambrose, who represents Sturgeon River-Parkland, believes the team assembled will be ‘the strongest Official Opposition this country has ever seen.’

“I am proud to lead this team of talented and respected individuals from across Canada,” she added. “Together, we will ask the Government the tough questions and hold them to account.”

Zimmer said he is honoured to be asked to her in the Shadow Cabinet. “I look forward to working hard in this new role and being an effective and productive member of such a dynamic team.”

The Conservative Party of Canada holds 99 seats in parliament, and forms the Official Opposition to a Liberal Majority government holding 184 seats.
