Got a pumpkin leftover from Halloween, or other fall festivities? NEAT will take care of it for you.

This Saturday, at Home Hardware, NEAT will be hosting their 5th Annual Pumpkin Plunge from 10 AM until 1 PM.

Those who bring their pumpkins to the event can watch it crash to the ground in the Home Hardware parking lot.

NEAT is also accepting any yard clippings and waste residents may wish to give away to compost for one last day on Saturday, and will be composting the pumpkins with the waste collected.

They ask that residents bring the yard waste in compostable paper bags, rather than plastic bags.

Tammy Hrab with NEAT said over 800 pounds of pumpkin leftovers were collected after the event by a farmer looking to feed his pigs.

For those looking to warm up on what is surely going to be a cool day watching pumpkins plunge, a variety of different soups are available for $2 per mug – so people are encouraged to bring their own mug for a serving.
