Viewed over 6,000 times on Facebook, a video released last week from Tribe of One features Bert Ambrose elementary students embracing ‘the power of words.’

Singer-songwriter with Tribe of One Rik Leaf had previously come to Ecole Central Fort St. John earlier this autumn.

The video also shows students launching paper airplanes with a positive message at each other.

There were several different projects, including songs with the themes of being the best you can be, ‘shining bright,’ and another about the school’s new ‘buddy bench’, where children can sit and make new friends.

Principal Dave Richie said Leaf has come to work with students at least three different times in his time at Bert Ambrose.

“It was very fun to see, and the kids loved it,” Richie said. “Rik’s pretty theatrical and dramatic, and he had a pretty good intro in hyping them up … getting them excited about this.”
