The Northeast BC Resource Municipalities Coalition is set to host its first Upstream Update Forum tomorrow morning at 7:00, at Fort St. John’s west-end Pomeroy Hotel.

Jas Johal of the BC LNG Alliance, and Dr. Charles Jago, the former President of the University of Northern BC, will be the keynote speakers, and they’ll address the latest on the development of a BC liquefied natural gas industry, and the challenges and opportunities associated with resource development in general.

In addition to resource industry proponents and the general public, the forum is expected to bring together, the Northern Rockies, Fort St. John, and Dawson Creek Chambers of Commerce, Energy Services BC, and the Northern BC Truckers Association.

While on-line registration has ended, you can still register at the door — and Mayor Lori Ackerman says about 100 are expected to attend the event.

Despite recent region-wide expansion of the resource industry, the Coalition still has only three, northeast local government member jurisdictions, but Mayor Ackerman believes that will likely change once the rest of the region catches up to Fort St. John, Taylor, and Fort Nelson in terms industry history.

Colin Griffith is the Coalition’s Executive Director:
