It was a productive weekend for the Fort St. John Flyers as they salvaged three of a possible four points in two games. After getting a point for a shootout loss to the Spirit River Rangers, the Flyers were in High Prairie on Saturday and came away with a 7-5 victory.
The Flyers led 2-1 after the first and were well ahead in the shots at 22-10.
The contest opened up in the second with five goals scored. Fort St. John had 5-3 lead heading into the final frame.
High Prairie got to within a goal, however it’s as close as they would get as the scoreboard read 7-5 when regulation time expired.
Scoring for the Flyers were Rick Cleaver, Ryan Carter (2), Mike van Nostrand, Joey Massingham, Robbie Sidhu, and Brady Busche.
The Flyers next game is scheduled for Friday night at home against the Spirit River Rangers.
