A Fort St. John nurse is the recipient of the Rising Star Award from the Association of Registered Nurses of British Columbia.

Miranda Fehr has worked at the Fort St. John Hospital since June 2012 on the Inpatient Unit.

Since graduating three years ago, the Association says her positive attitude, calmness and strong communication skills have made her stand-out.

The Association adds that her strong clinical skills, along with caring and sensitivity in her interactions with patients, have made her a successful role model for students in the nursing practice.

Other awards were presented for Innovation in Nursing, and for excellence in:
