Having been elected by acclamation, Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies’s member of parliament Bob Zimmer will continue as chair of the BC/Yukon Conservative Caucus.

Zimmer said he is ‘honoured and humbled’ to be chosen by his colleagues to continue on as chair of the Caucus.

“My colleagues and I will continue to provide a strong voice for the region and work hard to ensure that the interests of our region are heard.”

North Okanagan-Shuswap’s MP Mel Arnold will be the vice-chair.

Zimmer congratulated Arnold and says he looks forward to working with him.

This is the first time that regional caucus chairs have been elected, having previously been appointed directly by the leader of the Conservative Party. He was first appointed to Chair by former prime minister Stephen Harper in October 2013.
