The Grande Prairie RCMP are investigating two cases of armed robbery with local cabs.

On December 26, the RCMP responded to a robbery complaint of a local cab driver.  The driver was threatened with a knife and demanded money.  The suspect fled the area with the victims cell phone.  Then only a few hours later, early on Sunday, the RCMP responded to a second report.  The suspect pulled a knife and demanded money.  The victim was able to stop and exit the cab.  The suspect then fled the area.

The cab was later recovered in the area of 86 Avenue and 102 Street badly damaged by fire.
