FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — It’s that time of year — the holidays are officially over, and Christmas Trees needs to be disposed of. The City of Fort St. John will be collecting natural trees this Saturday, Jan. 9.

From 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., residents can leave their trees on the curb for helpers to pick-up. However, the City asks that trees be free of decorations.

Grad Fest & Prom Committee from North Peace Secondary, Scouts Canada and the Northern Dance Theatre Society will each take a quadrant of the city to collect trees. Residents can also drop their trees off at the Old Visitor Centre up until Jan. 29.

The trees will be chipped, courtesy of VRE Tree Removal, and composted once collected.

If weather isn’t favourable on the 9th for collection, pick-up services will be postponed until Jan. 16.
