DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Two similar break-ins are being investigated by Dawson Creek RCMP
On Dec. 28, several firearms were stolen from a home in the 1500 block of Dawson Creek’s 94 avenue in a break-in. Other personal accessories and house hold items were stolen as well.
Early this morning, a second break and enter occurred in the 300 block of 96th avenue in Dawson Creek. This break-in also involved the theft of several firearms, personal items, and household items.
“Currently both Break Ins have a similar MO and entry to the residences was gained in a similar fashion,” says Cpl. Dave Tyreman.
“The same items appear to have been targeted and both residences had an alley access on to the properties.”
RCMP are reminding residents to make sure that they have marked their belongings so that, should they be recovered by RCMP, they can be returned to its rightful owner.
With firearms being taken in these two Break Ins, police are also requesting firearm owners take extra precautions in securing their firearms.
Residents are also reminded to make sure nothing lying around outside the house that could help a thief break in, such as ladders, hammers and other tools.
