FORT NELSON, B.C. – A Fort Nelson couple are the proud parents of B.C.’s new years baby.

According to the CBC, Grayson Heinrich Jackson was born at 12:15 a.m. PT at Surrey Memorial Hospital.  His parents, Naomi Voss Hans and father Ryan Jackson are from Fort Nelson, but spending time at the end of her pregnancy in Surrey with family.

Grayson weighed 8 lb., 9 oz.

The first baby born in the north was in Prince George at 1:25 a.m.  Ellie Marie Bajic was born at the University Hospital of Northern B.C. to mom Kayla Bajic and dad David Bajic of Prince George, B.C. weighing in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce.
