FORT NELSON, B.C. – The Northern Rockies RCMP responded on New Years Day to a home in the 5500 block of 55 avenue in Fort Nelson after a call of a disturbance inside a home.

When police arrived on scene shortly after 5:15 p.m., they were confronted by a may they say was extremely agitated.

After spending some time negotiating with the man and doing everything they could to de-escalate the situation, the responding officers were able to take the man safely into custody where he was transported to hospital for medical treatment.
