FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — To accommodate the Elks Long track Speed Skating Meet, the public skating schedule at the Pomeroy Sports Centre Oval has been changed.

The Meet is this weekend, starting today and ending  Sunday, Jan. 10. The Provincial Long Track Speed Skating competition is from Thursday, Jan. 14 to Sunday, Jan. 17.

The City says public skating will only be available tonight from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., tomorrow from 3:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 10 from 11 a.m. to noon.

Free skating will occur this Sunday, from noon until 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. — and Sunday, Jan. 17 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

Skating will not be available to the public during the Provincial Long Track Speed Skating competition from Jan. 14 to 16.

Outdoor rinks are free of charge, and found at Matthews Park, Kin Park, and Centennial Park.
